Crashed at the north end of Espiritu Santo in 1944 (?).The plane went down in the water about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the northern shoreline. Both crew are MIA.

“Crashed in early 1944 at the north end of Espiritu Santo in the New Hebrides. The plane went down in the water about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the northern shoreline. The crew or the plane were never recovered. Any information would be appreciated.”

Memorials

Munger was officially declared dead on March 26, 1945 and he is memorialized on the tablets of the missing at Honolulu Cemetery (Punchbowl).
